2,500 stranded in 2 trains as drivers say 'duty over' midway

On Wednesday, over 2,500 passengers on two express trains were stranded at Burhwal Junction in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh. and blocked the tracks. The trains involved were the Saharsa-New Delhi Special Fare Chhath Puja Special (04021) and the Barauni-Lucknow Junction express (15203). The North Eastern Railway dispatched staff from Gonda junction to manage the situation. The Saharsa-New Delhi train, scheduled to depart at 7:15 pm on November 27th, left Saharsa at 9:30 am on November 28th, arriving in Gorakhpur 19 hours late. The train was not supposed to stop at Burhwal Junction but made an unscheduled halt around 1:15 pm.

Saharsa-New Delhi train, jo 27 November ko shaam 7:15 baje chalna tha, 28 November ko subah 9:30 baje Saharsa se chali, aur Gorakhpur 19 ghante der se pahuncha. Train ko Burhwal Junction pe rukna nahin tha, lekin dopahar 1:15 baje ke aas-paas usne unscheduled halt kiya.
