To bring Indore prominently on railway map, either gauge conversion of existing lines, or new connectivity is needed. Now the debate is on whether the newly announced Indore-Manmad line is more feasible than the gauge conversion of Indore-Khandwa line. Both alternatives have pros and cons. But whatever is opted, should be achieved in 5 years. If the planning itself takes longer, then no use of announcing new lines.

Another benefit will be the direct connectivity of Allahabad with Kota through shortest route via Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi, and shivpuri. Allahabad and Kota, both are very important cities from the students' point of view.
