Despite the airport's strategic location near Buddhist pilgrimage sites, international flights are infrequent, and the airport faces competition from nearby Gorakhpur Airport. The UDAN scheme, aimed at improving air connectivity to smaller cities, has seen a decline in usage at several airports, including Kushinagar.

Airport ki strategic location Buddhist pilgrimage sites ke paas hone ke bawjood, international flights kam hain, aur Gorakhpur Airport se competition hai. UDAN scheme, jiska aim tha smaller cities ki air connectivity improve karna, kaafi airports pe, Kushinagar bhi include hai, usage kam ho gaya hai.
