With the news coming out of bodhan station electrification..
I went to pure nostalgia reminding of old days with my father (he is also rf)
I stay near charlapalli (chz) ...for my knowledge there were only 2 main lines
1)sc...
more... -nzb-ned 2)sc-kzj sc-gnt line 3)chz -sanathnagar goods line
One day i was attending a marriage in malkajgiri(mjf) area... I was continuosly hearing sounds of goods trains with shakti diesel engine.. i was like surprised there is malkajgiri station but its very far which railway line it could be ...i walked to railway line upto 1 km and discovered a new railway line in my own city ЁЯШВ without google or iri .. i asked my father where this line will go..he too was clueless ..
Later figured out goods trains coming from warangal will take mly bypass and reach kcg by using sitaphalmandi bypass..
Later(after4-5 year's) both the bypass were electrified and the line which used to serve pure goods trains started serving express and local trains mostly banglore bound rajadhanis
This is how i was attracted to railfanning
We used to have local trains which were cool as suburban emu trains on sc -bmo-med section and sc-kcg-fm-umdanagar-shadnagr-timmapur section.all station in Hyderabad area had double Diesel line and 2 side pfs , beyond Hyderabad limits the locals stopped on single line pf , some stations didn't Even have pfs
There was a network of complex passenger trains (local)..and rake sharing
For example : a train running bw purna to mahbubnagar didn't used to run as single train but as parts like
( Purna - ned or nzb )(nzb or kamareddy -mirzapally) (manoharabad - med or bmo )(bmo-kcg-umdanagar)(umdagar-shadnagar or jadcherla - mahbubnagar) ЁЯШВ
The train used to halt at these major stations for 30-1hr hours so it used to run as seperate trains (numbers)
3 coach Dhmu trains(like the ones on goa section) were special attraction ..later when demus replaced them the charm was lost
There was a rake sharing arrangement bw Hyderabad based dhmu locals and a kamareddy bound express train..
Many people are in confusion today when demu/memu trains bieng used as express .. I used ask my dad why would anyone pay extra for dhmu train ..my father explained the prime time slot and speed logic that day..many used to board that express with local ticket and get caught to tte occassionally. My father didn't allow me to do that trick..he used to ("jaldi jaake apne ku konsa jhande ghadna hai" ЁЯШВ Local k aane par ajyenge)
Once lockdown was announced all these trains were cancelled majority of them run as express.this time railways abondoned the split logic and run as single train ex : tandur parbhani express
