Attached a scan of a newspaper article from the the Bombay Gazette, dated March 7th, 1905.
The Punjab mails departing from Bombay and Lahore on March 14th, were scheduled to run in the route of the present day Punjab mail (via Agra Cantt and Mathura).
Please...
more... note that the Punjab mail was already operational by this point and it used to run via Agra Fort, Tundla, Ghaziabad, Karnal and Amritsar. However, it was a standalone train only between Bombay and Tundla and ran combined with other trains after Tundla.
For March 14th, 1905, it became a fully standalone train and started running via the newly opened Agra-Mathura-Delhi chord line, and later running via Ambala to terminate at Lahore.
