Western Railway’s Railway Protection Force celebrated its 34th Raising Day on 21st September 2018, with a Parade at WR Sports Ground at Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. Shri A K Gupta – General Manager, Western Railway received the guard of honour, by inspecting the Parade of 6 platoons of RPF. Shri Gupta presented various awards to the awardees in recognition to their meritorious service.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, addressing on the occasion of the raising day, GM Shri Gupta urged the Railway Protection Force personnel to be more vigilant to eliminate crimes against passenger and railway properties and applauded the various achievements of RPF. Also, 96 Phatka gang members were caught, 407 stolen luggage of passengers were returned, five human trafficking cases and 50 theft cases including valuable items costing Rs.1.58 crores were returned. The parade was followed by a dog show performed by the RPF Dog Squad and other cultural programmes. Shri A K Singh, CSC and other senior officers were present at this occasion. The programme was winded up after a brief media interaction by GM.
