The budget allocated ₹300 crores for this project. Other allocations include ₹500 crores for the Vijayawada-Guntur third line project and ₹310 crores for the Kazipet-Vijayawada third line. The Ministry has also approved the construction of three to four tracks between Nidavalolu and Duvvada in the Vijayawada division, accelerating the implementation of these projects. Additionally, automatic signaling systems are being installed between Vijayawada and Duvvada, and the construction of tracks and automatic signaling systems between Guduru and Vijayawada is being expedited. A comprehensive project report for a new railway line connecting Amaravati, the capital region, has been approved by the Railway Board and NITI Aayog. The construction of this new line, including a new railway station in Amaravati, is expected to start soon. A 56 km railway line from Erupalem to Namburu will be constructed at a cost of ₹2,047 crores. A total of 73 railway stations in Andhra Pradesh, including 23 in the Vijayawada division, are being upgraded as Amrit Bharat stations, receiving a total allocation of ₹600 crores. The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has submitted a proposal to the Railway Board for the comprehensive development of Vijayawada Railway Station, estimated at ₹820 crores. Intercity trains that were suspended in the Vijayawada division will resume operations from August 10th. The Railway Ministry has also directed the authorities to consider introducing special trains, taking into account the high demand and waiting lists for ‘Train on Demand’ services.
