On Wednesday, the South Eastern Railway implemented a block between Chakradharpur and Jharsuguda sections of the Chakradharpur railway division due to Non-Interlocking (NI) work. Several other trains were terminated early, including Howrah Titlagarh Ispat Express at Chakradharpur, Ara Durg South Bihar Express at Rourkela, Katamachandi Howrah Ispat Express at Jharsuguda, Puri Hatia Tapswanee Express at Sambalpur, and Gorakhpur Sambalpur Maury Express at Hatia station. These disruptions caused inconvenience to passengers, though the railway had announced the block in advance. The NI work involved the creation of Line Holding Signals (LHS) near RS Colony, Pole No. 143, between Chakradharpur and Rourkela, and near Pole No. 404 at Kansbahal railway station. Other work included connecting the third line between Jharsuguda and Rourkela, and connecting the Overhead Equipment (OHE) at Rourkela railway station. The work was carried out by a large contingent of Chakradharpur Railway Division officials and employees.
