Date of Journey: 12/10/2024
Loco: Tata WAP7 39109 powered the train.

Punctuality:

Absolutely horrendous, and I mean it! The train is often rescheduled from the source, typically running 4 to 6 hours late. By the time it reaches Panvel, delays can range from 8 to 10 hours, sometimes even stretching to 15 hours, thanks to SER’s prioritization of freight trains.
Luckily, my journey was on time at departure (6 PM from Santragachi), but we reached Panvel on Monday around 2 AM—2 hours late, dated 14/10/2024. We even got overtaken by the 11040 Maharashtra Express at Bhusaval Junction!

For Mumbaikars, I would suggest using this train as a last resort, especially since Santragachi is not easily accessible, and public transportation is limited. Trains like Geetanjali Express or Jnaneswari Express are much better options.

Cleanliness:
There’s OBHS staff dedicated to cleaning every 3-4 hours, but honestly, the coaches were quite dirty, indicating poor primary maintenance by SRC CDO.

Food:
I ordered my meals online—lunch from Nagpur and dinner from Bhusaval—so I can't comment on the pantry car food. However, fellow passengers mentioned that the quality wasn’t great.

Railfanning:
There wasn’t much to see, but if the train is delayed by an hour or so, the Bilaspur-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express overtakes it just before Nagpur. I was fortunate to witness this during my trip.

Ticket Availability:
Except during Durga Puja or other festivals, tickets are usually easy to get. However, given the train's poor punctuality, I recommend considering alternative options for this route.

Safety:
Be mindful of your luggage, as there were no RPF patrols during the night.

Throughout this journey of 1 year, I learnt more and more about Railfanning...

From TL entries to PNR predictions, I have done many mistakes throughout this year but I enhanced my accuracy in TL entries and PNR predictions gradually.
This only happened due to support of each and every member of IRI who consistently helped me to do things correctly and never demotivated me.

The achievement of having 90%+ accuracy in PNR predictions and updating TL entries correctly was not possible without the support of all members including monitors and FM.

Today, I want to thank all the members who guided and supported me throughout this year.
This is just a little achievement. In future, more and more to come.
