Last year there was also debate by some who wanted Madurai to be made capital.

Both Trichy and Madurai have more than 2500 year history and Madurai is associated with Tamil sangam. Hence I won't be surprised if any of these are selected as capital in the future.

As far as Chennai is concerned nothing can be done anymore, already some areas have gone under water like the house in pattinapakkam (foreshore estate) that was swept away by sea two weeks ago.

Due to rising sea threat demand for places like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, etc will further increase.

While the british reclaimed land and built beach station we are now losing land due to incompetent politicians.
